A family crest with a rooted oak tree and the words BY CHOICE
BONUS DAD under the crest, or whatever the kids call him, with the year he joined the family
An optional note from the kids on the back
26 oz glass whiskey decanter with a glass stopper, frosted laser engraving made to last

A stepdad often goes without the big moment. He just keeps showing up: the school pickups, the late nights, the games he drove to without being asked. This decanter says what the kids have been meaning to tell him.
The front reads like an old family crest. An oak tree with its roots spread wide, a ribbon that reads BY CHOICE, then BONUS DAD in bold capitals and the year he became part of the family. It looks proud, never like a gag gift, so he can set it on the bar and tell anyone who asks exactly who it came from.
Turn it around for the part that gets him. Add a short note from the kids and we engrave it on the back, word for word.
Stuck on what to write? A few notes to start from:

You didn't have to. You chose us anyway.
Not by blood. By choice. Every single day.
Thank you for loving us like your own.
You showed up when you didn't have to. We noticed.
Family isn't who you start with. It's who stays.

How to Personalize

What do the kids call him? Optional, up to 12 characters, engraved in capitals under the crest. Leave it blank and we engrave BONUS DAD. Ideas: STEPDAD, POPS or his first name.

Year He Joined the Family: optional, engraved as EST. 2015 under the name. Leave it blank to skip it.

Back Message: optional, up to 120 characters, engraved on the back exactly as you type it. Leave it blank and the back stays clear.

The crest and the words BY CHOICE come on every decanter. Our team laser engraves every decanter in Monroe, Connecticut.
