Reposado is 818's strongest expression — 12x75's verdict after tasting the range — and Tequila Report found s'mores in the glass: caramel, chocolate, marshmallow, and cake batter. 818 is named for the Calabasas area code where Kendall Jenner grew up; she launched it in 2021, entered it blind in competitions to answer the celebrity critics, and makes it at NOM 1607, Grupo Solave in Amatitán, with director of tequila operations David Yan González, a master tequilero with 26 years in the industry. It's 100% blue Weber agave cooked in brick ovens, crushed by tahona, fermented in open-air tanks with natural yeast, distilled in copper pots, and rested around sixty days in white oak, bottled at 40% ABV; spent agave becomes adobe bricks for community projects through the 818 Bricks Program. Tequila Report: vanilla, chocolate, and caramel on the nose with marshmallow, oak, orange, and sage, then sweet caramel and vanilla into cake batter and chocolate. Uproxx's reviewer keeps it as a Reposado Margarita pour. Honest note, and it's the whole conversation: 818 is a deliberately soft, dessert-sweet style — Agave Matchmaker's enthusiast reviewers find it too sweet and read additives in it, while fans of smooth tequila rate it highly. Drinkers who want agave and barrel spice have Tapatío and Fortaleza at the price; drinkers who want easy, sweet, and famous have this. For a Reposado Margarita, a Paloma, or on the rocks.
