Ground Beef, Green Peas, Carrots, Cubed Potatoes & Onions in a Buttery Shortcrust Pastry
Behold the shepherd's pie pasty, a marvel of British ingenuity, where practicality meets pure indulgence. Imagine a traditional shepherd’s pie, usually confined to a pie dish, liberated and folded into a golden, hand-held parcel of joy.Inside, ground beef, seasoned to perfection, takes center stage, like the lead in a village pantomime.Supporting this meaty performance, we have a cast of peas and carrots, a colorful duo that adds a touch of whimsy to the proceedings. The peas are like tiny green pearls of goodness, while the carrots bring a touch of sweetness. Potatoes, those noble tubers, play the role of the comforting undercurrent - a starchy foundation that’s both humble and essential. All of this goodness is wrapped in a flaky, buttery pastry crust that’s as crisp as a fresh copy of The Times. It takes a beloved Sunday dinner and makes it portable, perfect for a stroll in the countryside or a quick snack while debating the merits of marmite.
