As iconic as the Eiffel Tower is today, it’s hard to believe how controversial the iron monument was back when it was just erected in the 1880’s. Guy de Maupassant was so aggrieved by the the tower that he would often eat at a restaurant by its base just to avoid the sight of it, and François Coppée called called it a “mast of iron gymnasium apparatus, incomplete, confused and deformed.” But everyone’s a critic. Today the iconic Eiffel Tower is as inseparable from our thoughts of Paris as Notre-Dame Cathedral, The Louvre, and croissants are. If you have ever visited the City of Lights, a picture of your family beaming next to the treasured landmark must be somewhere in the photo album of your trip.
If you’d like an attractive patent of your family’s recent trip to Paris, hang the Eiffel Tower Canvas in your home. The outline of the tower is filled in with the French names of all the capital’s famous landmarks, and the background is faintly etched in cursive, giving it the appearance of an original Hugo manuscript. We will personalize this museum quality artwork for you with the name of your family along with the month and year you visited. Très bien!
