Hayashi 8 Year Ryukyu Japanese Whisky is an age-stated whisky from Okinawa built on the islands' 500-year-old awamori tradition. Made from indica rice fermented with black koji, the spirit is distilled and then matured for eight years in oak, taking on the character of a whisky while keeping the soft, clean base of Ryukyu rice spirit. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 700ml bottle. The flavor is complex and harmonious: subtle oak and vanilla, warm caramel and a hint of tropical fruit on the palate, with a balance that is both invigorating and comforting and a smooth, enduring finish. Drink it neat, on the rocks, or in a highball with soda. This bottle is the most accessible way into Hayashi's Ryukyu whisky and a distinctive gift for a Japanese whisky fan.
