HOT ! Ron Centenario 9 Year Rum｜ Other Products

The 9 Year Conmemorativo ages in American white oak casks that previously held Scotch whisky from Speyside — American oak by construction, seasoned by Scotland by prior use, which explains the genuinely winey, sherry-like character reviewers keep picking up. It's picked up real hardware too: Gold Medals at the International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Drinkhacker gave it a B+, noting that two extra years over the 7 Year translate into a stronger, more pungent body with emerging coconut and chocolate layered over the core vanilla, finishing sharper with a hint of sherry. Other tasters describe citrus zest, green banana, lemon oil, and Bing cherry character, with caramel, baled hay, and maraschino liqueur running underneath, some picking up honey and raisin notes too. Master of Malt calls it smooth and easy enough to enjoy neat or with just a single ice cube, cautioning against drowning it in mixers. Bottled at 40% ABV, it's an excellent choice for a classic daiquiri, a Rum Old Fashioned, or a Jungle Bird.
